Patterdale Peds Online (PPO) is a free public database dedicated to the preservation, documentation, and study of the working Patterdale Terrier. Created by fanciers for fanciers, PPO was built with one goal in mind: to help preserve the history, pedigrees, and working heritage of these terriers for future generations. Our platform gives breeders, hunters, and enthusiasts a place to document dogs, research bloodlines, study pedigrees, and contribute to a growing body of knowledge centered around the breed. ALL FOR FREE! Too much valuable history is lost over time through missing paperwork, incomplete records, and undocumented dogs. PPO exists to help ensure that the dogs, the work, and the people behind them are remembered. Users of PPO can: *Build and explore pedigrees *Document historical and modern dogs *Share photos and information *Contribute to preserving the breed’s working and genetic history PPO is NOT A REGISTRY and does NOT seek to replace one. We recognize and respect the Patterdale Terrier Club of America as the oldest and most established organization within the breed, maintaining its own separate private records and longstanding commitment to preserving the integrity of the Patterdale Terrier. We are especially thankful for the new leadership of the PTCA and their willingness to work alongside other organizations that share the goal of preserving and promoting the breed. Through cooperation with PPO, the PTCA has agreed to assist in verifying individual requested pedigrees and qualifying work certifications submitted through our platform. We believe the dogs themselves will ultimately benefit from organizations being willing to work together rather than against one another. Our role is different. PPO serves as a public-facing resource focused on accessibility, transparency, education, and historical documentation. We believe that through cooperation with established institutions and through community participation, more accurate records can be preserved and more attention can be brought back to the working terrier. At its core, Patterdale Peds Online is about preserving the dogs, honoring the work, and supporting the future of the breed.
