The first of its kind database for the Patterdale Terrier Breed
Patterdale Peds Online was built to serve the working Patterdale Terrier community through documentation, education, transparency, and preservation of the breed’s history and working heritage.
Pedigree BuildingPPO allows users to build and expand pedigrees for their terriers through our free public database. Users can document historical and modern dogs, research bloodlines, and preserve important pedigree information for future generations.
Community Commenting & Photo SharingUsers are able to comment on dogs throughout the database and share photos directly within those comments. This feature helps encourage discussion, education, and the sharing of firsthand knowledge about dogs, bloodlines, producers, workers, and the history behind them.
Pedigree CertificationOne of the most exciting features available through PPO is the ability for users to request pedigree certification assistance through the Patterdale Terrier Club of America.
We would like to extend a major thank you to the PTCA and its leadership for being willing to work alongside PPO in helping verify and certify pedigrees as accurate whenever possible.
It is important to understand that a “Certified Pedigree” through PPO and PTCA cooperation DOES NOT mean the dog is registered.
Patterdale Peds Online does NOT register dogs and is NOT a registry. Certification simply represents that the pedigree information submitted has been reviewed and deemed accurate to the best of the certifying body’s knowledge.
Work CertificationUsers may also document and certify qualifying work completed by their terriers through the platform, with certifications handled through the PTCA.
This is a feature we are especially proud to offer and one we are thankful the PTCA helped bring to the table. Our hope is that this system encourages more people to document the real work being performed by their terriers and helps keep the working terrier in the spotlight where it belongs.
Historical PreservationPPO was created with the understanding that much of the breed’s history can be lost over time if it is not documented. Through open community participation, we aim to preserve important dogs, pedigrees, photographs, stories, and historical knowledge for generations to come.
Free Public AccessPPO is completely free to use. Our mission is to make pedigree research, historical documentation, and educational resources accessible to everyone who shares a passion for the breed.
